1. What is a ‘cookie’?
1.1 ‘Cookies’ are small data files that a website stores on your computer, tablet or mobile phone when you visit it. Each cookie is unique to your web browser. A cookie is sent from the server of the website you are viewing to your device, and only that server (or the server of the third party that set it) can retrieve or read its contents. Cookies may be sent back to the website’s servers with updated data as you browse. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels and SDKs, work in a similar way; in this Cookie Policy we refer to all of them as ‘cookies’.
1.2 Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting (‘first-party cookies’) or by another organisation, for example a video player, analytics or advertising provider whose content or services are used on the page (‘third-party cookies’). Third-party cookies may be able to track your browsing across different websites.
1.3 Cookies may be session cookies, which are stored only temporarily during your browsing session and are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a fixed period or until you delete them, and which allow a website to recognise you on your next visit (for example to remember your preferences).
2. How do we use cookies?
2.1 Our website and its subdomains, www.gymnastics.tv (hereinafter: the “Platform”), use cookies. The cookies are placed by NINOR Kft. (registered seat: 1022 Budapest, Bimbó út 15., Hungary; company registration number: Cg. 13-09-233524; EU VAT number: HU32536595; hereinafter: NINOR or, depending on the context, “we”, “us”, “our”) and by the third parties listed in Section 5.
2.2 We use the following categories of cookies:
(a) Strictly necessary: these cookies make the Platform usable by enabling basic functions such as page navigation, logging in, video streaming, the location check required to apply the territorial restrictions of our broadcasting licence (geo-blocking), and remembering your cookie choices. The Platform cannot function properly without them.
(b) Preferences: these cookies allow the Platform to remember choices you make, such as your language or the volume and quality settings of the video player.
(c) Statistics: these cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform and how the streams perform, by collecting and reporting information in aggregated or pseudonymised form.
(d) Marketing: these cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and to show you relevant advertisements on other websites.
2.3 Without cookies, the Platform would treat you as a new visitor every time you move to a new page. For example, after you log in, it would not recognise you on the next page and could not keep you logged in or play the streams available to you.
2.4 Consent. Strictly necessary cookies are placed on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing the Platform and do not require your consent. Preferences, statistics and marketing cookies are placed only if you give your consent in the cookie banner that appears on your first visit. You can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose individual categories. Refusing non-essential cookies does not prevent you from using the Platform or watching the Content.
3. How to manage or refuse cookies
3.1 Accepting non-essential cookies is voluntary. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking on “Cookie settings” at the bottom of each page of the Platform. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
3.2 You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Platform (including login and video playback) may not work. The exact steps may vary depending on your browser version:
(a) Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data (or go to chrome://settings/cookies).
(b) Microsoft Edge: Settings (“…” or Alt + F) → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
(c) Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data / Enhanced Tracking Protection.
(d) Safari (macOS): Safari → Settings (Preferences) → Privacy → Manage Website Data / Prevent cross-site tracking.
(e) Safari (iOS/iPadOS): Settings app → Safari → Privacy & Security / Clear History and Website Data.
(f) Chrome (Android): Chrome menu → Settings → Site settings → Third-party cookies.
3.3 You can find more information about managing cookies at www.aboutcookies.org and www.youronlinechoices.eu.
4. Your rights
4.1 Cookies may collect personal data (such as identifiers and IP addresses). You have the right to request information on the processing, and to request access to, rectification, erasure or restriction of your personal data collected through cookies. Detailed information about your rights as a data subject is available in our Privacy Notice (www.gymnastics.tv/privacy).
4.2 If you wish to exercise these rights or have any questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at hello@worldgymnastics.org.
5. Cookies used on the Platform
5.1 Strictly necessary cookies: these cookies enable basic functions such as page navigation, signing up and logging in, and protecting forms. The Platform cannot function properly without them.

| sessionid | Keeps you logged in after you sign in. Not set until you log in. | 2 weeks (or until you log out) |
| messages | Shows you a one-time confirmation or error message (for example after saving your profile or verifying your email), then disappears. Only present while a message is waiting. | Session |
| gtv_device | Keeps track of the devices used with your account, so that the limit of 2 devices per account can be applied. First-party cookie. | 1 year |
| gtv_consent | Stores your cookie choices (preferences and statistics), so that we do not ask you again on every page. First-party cookie. | 6 months |
| htmx-history-cache, htmx-current-path-for-history (browser session storage) | Lets the Back button restore the schedule or video list with your filters. Stays on your device only. | Until you close the browser tab |
5.2 Preferences cookies: these remember a setting you choose in the video player. They are stored only on pages with the player, and only after you change the volume, mute the sound or watch part of a replay. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
| media-chrome-pref-volume (browser local storage) | Set by the video player (Mux) to remember your sound volume. | Until you clear your browser data |
| media-chrome-pref-muted (browser local storage) | Set by the video player (Mux) to remember whether you muted the sound. | Until you clear your browser data |
| gtv-player-resume (browser local storage) | Remembers where you stopped watching a replay (your last 30), so the player can offer to resume from there. | Until you clear your browser data |
5.3 Statistics cookies: these cookies help us improve the performance of the Platform and the quality of the streams by understanding how visitors use them. They are placed only with your consent.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
| muxData | Mux: collects video playback analytics (e.g. buffering, start-up time, errors) to improve streaming quality. | 364 days |
5.4 Marketing cookies: we do not use marketing or advertising cookies.
6. Third-party websites
6.1 The Platform may contain links to, or embedded content from, other websites, such as the website of World Gymnastics, social media platforms or our partners. When you visit those websites or interact with embedded content, the relevant third party may set its own cookies. We do not operate those websites and do not control those cookies; please check the cookie policy of the relevant third party.
7. Changes to this Cookie Policy and miscellaneous
7.1 We keep this Cookie Policy under regular review and may amend it at any time, in particular where necessary due to changes in legislation, the practice of the competent authorities, the cookies used on the Platform, commercial or customer needs or identified security risks. If the changes affect the cookies requiring your consent, we will ask for your consent again.
7.2 If you have any questions or comments regarding this Cookie Policy, please contact us at hello@worldgymnastics.org.
7.3 This Cookie Policy was last updated on 14 October 2026.
